Hedgehoku Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is handled when you play Hedgehoku (the “app”), a mobile game by Garlic Cheese Games (“we”). The Korean version of this policy is the governing version for users in Korea.
What we collect and why
The app has no user accounts, and we do not directly collect your name, phone number or payment details. Your game progress is saved on your device and is not sent to our servers. The following information is processed while you use the app:
| Feature | Information | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Ads (Google AdMob) | Advertising ID, device information (model, OS, language), IP address and the approximate location derived from it, ad impressions and clicks, your ad consent choice | Serving and measuring ads, preventing ad fraud, and showing personalized ads where you have agreed |
| Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) | App instance ID, device information (model, OS, language), approximate location (country and region), in-app activity (puzzle starts, clears and fails, item use, shop views and purchases) | Usage statistics (where players stop, how items and the shop are used, return rate) and improving the game |
| Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) | Crash logs (stack traces), device information, Crashlytics installation ID | Finding and fixing the causes of crashes |
| Google Play Games (optional) | Play Games profile ID, display name, achievements, cloud save data (game progress such as levels, records and item counts) | Achievements and saving your progress across devices |
| In-app purchases | Product purchased, order number, purchase time, purchase verification data | Confirming purchases, delivering items, restoring purchases and handling refunds |
| Email support | Email address, name (if provided), message contents and replies | Answering your questions and resolving disputes |
Google Play Games information is processed only if you sign in to Play Games. Payments are handled by Google Play, and we never receive your card or other payment details. Daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device and do not send any information off it.
For more on how these services handle data, see the Google Privacy Policy and Privacy and Security in Firebase.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on your consent for personalized ads, on our legitimate interests for analytics, crash reports and fraud prevention, and on the performance of a contract for in-app purchases and the features you choose to use.
Ads and your choices
In regions where consent is required (such as the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the app shows a consent form on first launch, and personalized ads are only shown if you agree. Where US state privacy laws apply, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted ads in the same way.
- In the app: use the ad personalization settings button on the Settings screen to change your choice (shown where it applies).
- On your device: go to Android Settings → Privacy → Ads to reset or delete your advertising ID.
If you opt out of personalized ads, you may still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.
Service providers and international transfers
We use Google LLC (AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play Games, Google Play billing and Gmail) and Cloudflare, Inc. (email routing) to run the app and handle support. These providers process information on servers in the United States and other countries under their own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
- Game progress and settings on your device are removed when you uninstall the app or use the reset progress option in Settings.
- Firebase Analytics activity data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically.
- Crashlytics crash logs are kept for 90 days and then deleted.
- Ads and Play Games data are kept for the periods set by Google’s policies.
- Purchase records are kept for 5 years, and records of complaints or disputes for 3 years, as required by Korean consumer protection law.
- Support emails are deleted one year after your inquiry is resolved.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or under 14 in Korea), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians can contact us to request deletion.
Your rights and deleting your data
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email us to make a request and we will respond within 10 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
- Game data on your device is deleted when you uninstall the app, use the reset progress option in Settings, or clear the app’s data in Android Settings.
- Achievements and saved games in Google Play Games can be deleted from your Play Games settings, or you can ask us to help.
Security
We limit access to personal information to the person responsible for privacy, protect the related accounts with strong passwords and authentication, and use encrypted connections (HTTPS) when communicating with service providers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, the services it uses or legal requirements change. The current version will always be published on this page with its last-updated date.
